Six new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed among crew members of the Al Kuwait livestock carrier under quarantine in Fremantle Port.

There have been six new cases of COVID-19 confirmed among crew members of the Al Kuwait livestock carrier currently under quarantine in Fremantle Port.
The news comes just days after an initial six crew members tested positive following the ship’s arrival in WA last week.
Three of the most recent group of Al Kuwait crew members who tested positive were still onboard and were set to be transferred to quarantine in a Perth hotel.
The other crew members to test positive were already under isolation at the Novotel Hotel in Perth after being transported there yesterday.
Another two crew members who have had significant contact with the positive cases will also be transferred to the hotel.
There are 10 crew members still on board the livestock carrier and all have been tested for the virus, along with all the crew under quarantine at the hotel.
Another case was recorded in WA today after a returned overseas traveller fell ill while quarantined in a Perth hotel.
The total number of active COVID-19 cases in WA now sits at 18, with one infected West Australian, five Australians from interstate and 12 crew members from the Al Kuwait.
More to come.
