Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League hopes took a blow last week as they lost 1-0 to Royal Antwerp.
The defeat in Belgium now makes their clash with Ludogorets Razgrad – live on talkSPORT – a must-win game as they look to qualify for the knockout stages without too much fuss.
Mourinho wass furious with his players during their loss to Antwerp
A sloppy display with a rotated team now sees Jose Mourinho promising to go ‘full power’ in Bulgaria.
The Portuguese boss has already confirmed Gareth Bale will start the game but his comments suggest we could see the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son in the starting line-up.
Midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who is likely to play, is well aware improvements are needed.
He said: “We were all disappointed about the result when we played in Belgium. At the beginning of the competition we said we would like to win a lot of games as soon as possible and qualify quick.
Former Spurs forward Clive Allen says Spurs would be ‘clever’ to let Dele Alli go out on loan and regain some confidence
“Of course we started well in the first game at home against LASK. Last week we were disappointed because we did not play well and I think we did not show a good attitude on the pitch. That’s why we were all disappointed. This was not acceptable. Tomorrow is a good opportunity to show that we learned from that game.
“It’s going to be a tough opponent. They won the last league. It’s a good team with good players and we have to go there with good character and with a positive mind and hopefully win the game and come back with the three points.”
Bale earned the win for Spurs against  Brighton in their last match and he is set to start against Ludogorets
At half-time of the Ludogorets match, Carlos Vinicius, Dele Alli, Giovani Lo Celso, and Steven Bergwijn were all taken off and it will be intriguing to see which players are given a second chance.
Alli’s removal after the opening period of that clash provoked plenty of reaction.
If Spurs are clever they might well loan him to a team where he could start to find form, which he needs, because hes desperately short of confidence, the former Spurs striker told the talkSPORT Breakfast.
He was very sloppy last night.
Alli was taken off at half-time against Antwerp
I think he probably has to move away from Spurs for a while to try and rediscover the doubted talent he has.
Hes an incredible player, he has been for Spurs, but I think now youre looking at a move for him.
You cant keep being substituted at half-time in that manner and not expect something to happen.
Kane is now likely to start in the Europa League
Tottenham team news
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he has some minor injury issues ahead of the clash with three players ruled out.
He said in his pre-match press conference: “[Sergio] Reguilon is ill but not Covid, just ill.
“[Erik] Lamela was having a little problem for quite a few weeks and we decided it was the time to stop.
“[Serge] Aurier has a little problem, nothing important.”
Lamela will be absent for the Europa League tie
