Donald Trump has again risked inflaming the George Floyd protests further on their eighth day as he insists that New York deploys the National Guard to rein in looting, declaring on Twitter: The lowlifes and losers are ripping you apart. Act fast!
Tens of thousands of demonstrators once more took to the streets of cities across the nation on Tuesday for largely peaceful mass gatherings to demand justice for Floyds killing and an end to police discrimination and violence, doing so in defiance of curfews ordering them to stay inside.
Roxie Washington, the mother of Floyds six-year-old daughter, has meanwhile spoken out on the tragedy for the first time, saying: I want everybody to know that this is what those officers took from me. At the end of the day, they get to go home and be with their families. Gianna does not have a father. He will never see her grow up, graduate, he will never walk her down the aisle. If theres a problem shes having and she needs her dad, she does not have that anymore.
