What Doctors Don’t Tell You magazine pulled from supermarket shelves

A magazine spouting complimentary therapies and alternative medicines and telling readers how to protect themselves from 5G has been yanked from Coles and Woolworths shelves nationwide. The decision on the April-May 2020 edition of What Doctors Don’t Tell You was made on Tuesday afternoon after Sydney 2GB radio host Ben Fordham expressed outrage at it being stocked in Australia’s two biggest supermarkets.
He said the publication was “filled with dangerous misinformation”, “dodgy medical advice” and “full of all the usual conspiracy theories”.
The front cover of the edition shared by Fordham hints at articles on healing spines without surgery, healing diabetes and “healing your heart after a heart attack”.
“Protect yourself from Wi-Fi and 5G, a step-by-step guide to staying safe,” another headline states.

“Coles does not endorse the content of this magazine,” the supermarket giant said in a statement to 2GB.
“What Coles was shown when they were originally shown the magazine is different content to what is in this edition.”
“Coles is removing it from all stories nationwide. We encourage everyone to listen to help authorities in regards to COVID-19.”

In an update later on Tuesday, Fordham said Woolworths also confirmed it would remove the magazine from sale.
“We’ve informed the supplier we’ll be removing the magazine from sale,” it said in a statement to 2GB.
“We would encourage our customers to seek and follow expert medical advice.”
Dr Harry Nespolon, president of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, congratulated Fordham for the successful push.
The magazine began as a newsletter in 1989, according to its UK-based website.
The “launch issue” was released for readers in Australia and New Zealand in August-September 2019. It is published bimonthly and the issue cited today is the fifth.
“What Doctors Don’t Tell You is a monthly magazine which publishes the latest healthcare news, alongside information on complimentary therapies and alternative medicines, with a host of features and stories written by leading experts and our highly-respected regular contributors,” it states.
“We aim to bring our readers world-leading research and groundbreaking news.”
