Protests have been held in cities across the US for another night following the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died after a white police officer knelt on his neck while he lay on the ground while being arrested.

Some of the demonstrations turned violent and saw police clashing with protestors. 
On Friday, Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was arrested and charged with the third degree murder and manslaughter of George Floyd but it did not ease tensions and protesters gathered again last night in cities across the US.
Curfews were imposed and the National Guard deployed in several states.
Tear gas and rubber bullets were fired at demonstrators in Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Miami.

Acts of violence and vandalism were reported in Philadelphia and Atlanta. 
In New York, police cars were set on fire and video footage showed two NYPD vehicles driving into a crowd of protesters. 
In Washington DC, demonstrators once again gathered outside the White House before being dispersed by police. 
US President Donald Trump said that the memory of George Floyd was being dishonoured by rioters, looters and anarchists.
