Months before LeBron James entered a pandemic-safe bubble at Disney World to resume the NBA season, Detroit utility worker Teresa Emery spent two weeks sequestered with her co-workers as the new coronavirus spread around them.
Ms. Emery and her crew at DTE Energy Co. worked 12-hour days then returned to a nearby hotel where they received food, laundry service and medical care. Contact with each other outside of work was prohibited, and they werent allowed to see friends and family.
