Amouranth has once again got herself banned on Twitch, and yet it feels like there wasn’t a lot she could have done to avoid it this time.

  • Twitch streamer Amouranth has received her third ban in the past 12 months.
  • This time she appears to have been banned when another user changed their profile picture to a penis picture while she was streaming.
  • At this point, Amouranth doesnt even deserve the ban.

Banning a Twitch streamer is sometimes justified. If theyve done something awful or illegal then they deserve to eat a ban. Most bans are completely idiot though. Accidental live slips ups may require an apology, but not an account suspension. Such is the case, in my opinion, with Amouranth.
Amouranth is a Twitch streamer who hangs out in the just chatting section. She just got her 3rd ban in the past 12 months, and the worse part is that those bans dont even seem justified. I once again find myself asking the question; why are Twitch staff so bad at their job?
Replies to the tweet announcing her ban have mostly been people either saying the ban wont last or that its a good thing. | Source: Twitter (edited by CCN)
Amouranth Keeps Slipping Up
Normally, when you hear someone has been banned 3 times in the past year you expect them to be pretty awful as a person. Or at least you expect them to keep pushing the rules. But, most of the time Amouranth is banned in sort of stupid ways.
Her first ban was for an upskirt accident while she was live. Realistically its her fault for not wearing underwear while rolling on the floor. But, it was very clearly just an accident, not a result of pushing the limits of good taste.
Her second ban was something to do with a gym stream. That one was much more confusing. At the time, not even Amouranth was sure what had actually got her banned. Now shes being banned because someone had their profile picture set as a picture of a penis and she didnt even notice.
Its pretty easy to see that Amouranth uses her sexuality as a selling point, which has ended up with many people online giving her hate for it. | Source: Twitter
What is the point in a Twitch Ban?
Full disclosure, I am not an Amouranth fan. I dont dislike her, but I have never once watched one of her streams. I also refuse to make surface-level judgments about her as a person or as a streamer.
Even if you dont personally like Amouranth as a person or enjoy her content, its pretty easy to see that this ban is pointless. Bans are supposed to teach people a lesson. In this case, she doesnt have any lessons to learn.
She had no control over what someone else set as their profile picture. Rather than correcting defective behavior, at best this ban will do nothing, at worst itll restrict creative freedom.
It Doesnt Matter What You Personally Think of Amouranths Content
I know that there will be people out there happy about Amouranth getting banned. Looking at her content its easy to see that sex appeal is a big part of her selling point. As is always the case with women who use their sexuality to sell themselves, there are people who dont like it.
Even in the replies to the tweet about the ban, there are people laughing and saying its a good thing. People are calling her a thot, saying she deserves it all, etc. It all just seems so pointless and empty.
Its not like her wearing sexually appealing clothing and stretching a lot on Twitch is a problem. She can do what she wants and if people like it, which they seem to, then shell profit from it. Good for her.
