Manchester United legend Paul Scholes compared Marcus Rashford to another Old Trafford hero after his dazzling hat-trick against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
After making headlines off the pitch, the young MBE made headlines on it on Wednesday night as he came off the bench to score three goals in 16 minutes in a 5-0 win over the German side.
Marcus Rashford was sensational as he grabbed a hat-trick for Man United
And Scholes said he saw shades of Ruud van Nistelrooy in the Englishmans performance, saying the 22-year-old was ruthless in front of goal.
It was another stunning European display from Rashford, who scored Uniteds winner in a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain last week.
His trio against Leipzig makes the United ace the joint top scorer in Europe after two games, and after the match Scholes told BT Sport: You come to expect this from him.
“I liked his ruthlessness tonight, you felt every time he went through he was not giving the keeper a chance.
His finishing has been questioned in the past, but tonight you’re looking at 25 goals from him if he keeps that attitude.
That was like Van Nistelrooy, you see him going through and you know he’s going to smash the ball into the corner.
We talk about Rudd van Nistelrooy and that kind of finishing, when you get a chance…bang, its a goal.
Van Nistelrooy is regarded as one of Man United’s best-ever strikers

One of Rashfords victims was Dayot Upamecano, the RB Leipzig centre-back who has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Ahead of the match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer even admitted he was excited to see the defender in action up close, with reports the club are planning a summer move for the 22-year-old.
But he was turned inside out by Rashford as the striker thundered in his second goal of the night.
And while fans joked on social media that Rashford has brought the price down for the centre-back ahead of Uniteds pursuit, another club legend admitted the Frenchman had a nightmare.
Adding his praise for Rashford, Rio Ferdinand said: Hes on fire.
The only way I can explain tonights little cameo was it was almost like being in the playground at school and the big boy, the sixth-former, comes and plays with the first years and just bullies everyone.
Upamecano didn’t have the best game against Man United – the club linked with an interest in signing him
Too quick, too strong and takes their dinner money. He did the lot tonight, he was head and shoulders above them.
He made defenders who we were marvelling about before the game, who we saw last season play really well in the Champions League, he made them look like schoolboys tonight.
This is about being ruthless but I thought Upamecano had a nightmare today.
There was no doubt in your mind, once he went through there, the confidence hes showing at the moment and just his intent of hitting the back of the net and getting amongst the goals.
Game over. Theres a venom when he hits it like that.
