The victim, 45, was found bleeding in the street and rushed to hospital but sadly died

A murder investigation is underway after a woman was found fatally injured in a street last night.
Emergency services arrived at the scene on Moorland Road in Maghull at about 9.20pm following a report of concern for the safety of a 45-year-old woman.
Locals rushed outside after the woman collapsed on the driveway of a home with serious injuries.
Witnesses said she was bleeding heavily after sustaining what is believed to have been a neck injury.
Residents tried to give the 45-year-old CPR in frantic efforts to save her life before paramedics turned up and she was taken to hospital, where she sadly died.
This morning, Merseyside Police confirmed they had arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
The ECHO understands the woman and man knew each other.
In a statement, police said: “Officers have arrested a 47 year old man on suspicion of murder yesterday evening (15th August).

“We were called to Moorland Road, Maghull by North West Ambulance Service at around 9:20pm following a concern for safety of a 45 year old woman in the area.
“The woman was taken to hospital where she sadly passed away. Specialist officers are supporting her relatives at this difficult time.
“Investigations are ongoing into the full circumstances and forensic analysis as well as house to house enquiries will likely continue throughout the weekend.
