The body of a man in his late 30s has been recovered from the River Lee at Ballincollig in Co Cork.

The body of a man in his late 30s has been recovered from the River Lee at Ballincollig in Co Cork.
The man is understood to have been part of a group who were swimming on the riverbank late last night when the incident occurred.
A search operation coordinated by the marine rescue coordination centre at Valentia in Co Kerry was launched.
The man’s body was recovered by members of Mallow search and rescue team at around 1.30am.
The body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
