Hurricane Delta made landfall along the Gulf Coast as a Category 2 storm on Friday, October 9, with winds approaching 100 mph.
The storm initially hit the Yucatan Peninsula Wednesday morning, causing flooding and downed power lines, before moving north to the US coast.
The center of Delta made landfall a little more than 10 miles from where deadly Hurricane Laura slammed into the coast in August. Delta is the 10th named storm to make landfall in the US this season, setting the record for the most in one year.
